Double-action twist-lock carabiners require two actions to open, ensuring that carabiners cannot be opened accidentally. To open the carabiner the gate must be rotated then drawn back. The carabiner locks automatically when released to ensure that it's ready for use. Fall-rated carabiners are used as part of a personal fall protection system to connect lanyards/SRLs to harnesses or anchor points.
